When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my wonderfully large (and often loud) family. We love getting outdoors, whether it’s wandering through the botanic gardens, exploring the zoo, or getting lost (on purpose) in nature. We make it a monthly mission to find new plant inspiration for our ever-growing family garden - basically, we're slowly turning our backyard into a jungle.
When I get a little me time, I’m usually curled up with a good book, deep into a board game battle, shuffling cards, or working on a puzzle.
I absolutely love what I do. My passion for oral health started young - after seeing how much of a confidence boost orthodontic treatment gave my classmates, I realized just how powerful a smile can be. Later, a brilliant hygienist opened my eyes to the difference between plaque and calculus, and it lit a spark in me.
Now, I’m driven by the goal of helping patients feel confident, educated, and proud of their smiles. Whether it’s through prevention, treatment, or just a really great conversation in the chair, I aim to make a meaningful difference in their lives - one tooth at a time.

I always get in quickly upon arrival. Dr. Gibson genuinely cares for his patients. Although the office is closed on Fridays, he called to check in with me about the procedure I had on Thursday. I have been going here for three years and the staff and technicians are always great 👍 👌Recently I had a front tooth that I injured eating jerky and needed attention, I called and the staff ask if I was in any pain I told them no since I had my retainers that I put on right away. They got me in asap and the the doctor was very knowledgeable and concerned which made me fill comfortable since I thought I was going to loose one of my front teeth. He assured me that nothing was damaged and he could secure my tooth on a bracket I had and it will become stable again. I have gone with alot of dentist and this place is the best. Thank you again for caring and helping me keep my tooth.
The receptionist and Anne, the hygienist, were pleasant and professional. I think Anne did a good job of inspecting and cleaning my teeth and she was ready for me when I arrived. My only complaint is at the corporate level because they require patients to confirm appointments by text and then directly by telephone.

This has been my dental office for about 10 years now (I think) through a referral from a friend. Always a pleasant experience. Anne is my hygienist, and cleanings are a breeze. Especially nice that they send reminders, and... They run their office on time! I had a really bad experience at another dentist, so I had a lot of anxiety, but I'm over it since coming here. I had to have a filling yesterday, and I was in and out in 20 minutes. I don't have insurance but there's a discount card that you can buy. I think they are reasonable regardless.

I just started as a new patient and my experience is wonderful. The staffs are friendly and helpful with new comers. They were able to get me scheduled for and completed my doctor exam and X Ray within two working days! On top of this, they were able to find me a time slot for a same dental cleaning and the hygienist Is among the best that I have experienced over decades. His scrapings are firm and precise and I felt truly thoroughly cleaned afterwards. The doctor and his assistant are professional, friendly, patient, and thorough with questions. Previously, I have contacted various clinics before and most of them will take a long time to get a new patient scheduled for the first cleaning. Dr. Gallegos has been our family’s dentist for over a decade—caring for me, my husband, our son, our daughter, and my best friend. He’s always been so kind, funny, and genuinely caring. It never felt like just another appointment—he always made us feel comfortable, listened to, and truly remembered. Right before our son left for college to play football, I was worried about making sure his teeth would be okay while he was away. Dr. Gallegos took the time to carefully go over everything and made sure he was in great shape before he left. That meant so much to me as a mom. When Dr. Gallegos sold his practice, I was sad but wished him the best. I was happy when I heard from Endodontist he was practicing again. He was welcoming and remembered my whole family, and treated me with the same kindness I had always known. His new office at North Coors Dental has such a peaceful, welcoming energy—it felt completely different in the best way. His assistant was absolutely lovely, and the front desk staff was warm and professional. The whole environment put me at ease from the moment I walked in. Broke a tooth Tuesday night, called Mt Dental and left a voice mail seeking a next day appointment. I got a call before 8 AM offering a 9:45 Appointment. I was given options on what to do with the tooth. Each option was fully explained, including costs. Was afforded plenty of time to weigh the options. Problem was fixed and went on to spend my day with family. I have used Mountain Dental for a few years now and this type of customer service is the norm. Looking for a new dentist, stop and call Mountain Dental.
Mountain Dental has gone through a lot of changes in the past few years. All of the original dentists and many of the hygienists have retired. I had contemplated going somewhere else but I decided to stay. Having been a patient of the practice for over 25 years it has taken me a while to feel comfortable there again. Brenda is a wonderful hygienist does a great job looking after my teeth. Most recently I had an appointment for a crown replacement and something happened with my appointment. No one was expecting me when I arrived. The staff was able to fit me in with Dr Gibson. And even though he was not expecting me he did a great job, and I didn’t feel like I was an imposition.

Last dental office...got hacked...and since the hacker deleted my insurance...they kept sending demands for payment.We had to discover the root of the problem from Action 7 news .. who ran the hacker story ....lol
I am NOT a fan of any dentist! I have to say the hygienist was so knowledgeable I felt like I left with a new appreciation for my mouth! The dentist was amazing kind and really concerned about the health of my teeth and gums as apposed to just filling them or crowing them. I was grateful for that!! I didn’t need any work done!! Wow! If it isn’t causing any harm leave it alone! My mouth was so clean when I left and I felt proud that I can trust this entire office with my dental health! Highly recommend!
I started going here 3 years ago when I first moved to New Mexico.. I chose it because of the proximity to my home and they had a woman dentist. The staff is friendly, the office is clean, and I like my dental hygienist that cleans my teeth. They don’t try to oversell you anything like in dental offices I’ve been at in CA. Mountain Dental took care of me so well, and so quickly. The dentist was super straight forward and reasonable, - overall I had a great experience. They were really careful and transparent with my insurance too, and that helped be them asking for consent throughout the procedure so I wasn’t billed anything surprisingly.

I never thought I would ever send a review about a dentist, but Dr. Leeper is incredible. I have a major fear of dentistry. Decades of horrible experiences. Dr. Leeper figured that out almost immediately. I had to have a crown, she prescribed medication to calm me. What a difference it made. I could not open my mouth without discomfort due to a terrible rash at the corners of my mouth. She prescribed a cream that is already clearing it up. Thank you Dr. Leeper for your kindness, your service and your compassion.

I’ve been going to Mountain Dental for almost 3 years. I am never kept waiting and the office is well organized and friendly. I am very happy with the dental work I recently received for a broken tooth - now a cap. Another time a sore/sensitive tooth I was sure would need a root canal turned out to be sore from probably clenching my jaw. The dentist took a ‘wait and see’ approach which was correct to do.
They’re always so friendly and welcoming. I have never been to another dentist office, I’ve been seen here since childhood all the way into adulthood. Very accommodating and great hours so you can get in before or after work. Overall very satisfied with all my experiences here!

I would like to mention my dental hygienist, Anne, and the dental assistant, Elmer, and Dr. Leeper are outstanding in their field. I am 63 years old and growing up my mother worked for a dentist, so I feel I have some experience in dental offices and my thoughts are this is one of the absolute best of the best, because of the people I mentioned . The front desk staff is efficient and I think that’s worth mentioning also. .

Both of these health care professionals are patient and attentive, and any discomfort in a procedure is very minimal. The office desk staff are also very friendly and helpful. I have only lived in Albuquerque for a year and I am delighted to have found Mountain Dental and have recommended it to my family and friends.

10 stars if I could give it. The hygienist got plaque off my teeth that a prior hygienist said ‘just won’t come off’ and I can now feel the posterior side of individual lower incisors with my tongue as opposed to the wall of plaque that was there. They also made molds on the spot for whitening that were ready later the same day. All staff members I encountered were friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. Best dentist experience ever.

I've been going to Mountain Dental for decades, lately, to the facilities on Carlisle and Indian School in ABQ. I am an old guy with gum issues, and require deep cleaning every three months. The hygienist there, Jolene, is awesome: professional, engaging, informative, and enthusiastic about my own good health. Great support staff there also, attentive to details and problem-solving when it comes to insurance headaches. They make for a great team. I have learned not to dread the dentist! Highly recommended.

My 6 year old son said 100, when asked to rate his experience on a scale of 1-10. I can't say it enough, in my whole life's experience of hygienist, Erin is an excellent hygienist! She has a great personality, is very gentle when cleaning, is great at explaining the process or what needs improvement, and she is great with kids. It is nice to have a great hygienist, because most of the visit is spent with them. They are the face of the business. A bad hygienist would make me want to change to a different Dentist Office. Of course Dr. Johnson is the best and very professional. He has a passion for what he does. He is the kind of Dentist other Dentist go to.

One the first occasion I called about 3:00 on a Thursday afternoon and they had me in a 9:00am on Friday!..Then I called one Saturday at 10 or so and they had me in by 1:00pm!.. They are just a fun, understanding , and supporting group of ladies...I enjoy going to the dentist because the atomosphere Dr. Hirji has created from the front door to the chair its professinal but fun!.. I can tell that the staff enjoy working for Dr. Hirji and with her! I have been going to this office for 34 years with changes in dentists, staff and owners. I realized today after a longish visit that I never, ever am scared or nervous when I go there! And I have had some major work done here. I am not sure that it is normal to look forward to going to the dentist but this office and its dentists are incredibly friendly and kind and we laugh and talk together! I look forward to seeing all of them and still miss those who have moved on. And, importantly, everyone is focused on assuring the least discomfort and the highest quality work. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I am in Albuquerque temporarily working. I broke a molar tooth and looked for a dentist online. I found Mountain Dentistry. I made an appointment and was able to be seen within a few days. I saw Dr Leeper and she did great job explaining everything as she went along. She was very nice and calming. Dr leeper was able to repair my tooth with a temporary filling. I'll have a crown when I get back home to michigan. If I was down here long enough, I would definitely have the permanent work done here. My tooth looks great and I'm able to eat normally. I highly recommend. Great experience!

I am updating theprevious review. I went yesterday- the first time since the pandemic shut down. —-This whole idea was nerve-wracking, but they were very good with me yesterday. Though the outside routines are different, the kindness and professionalism of the dentists and the assistants was not one bit different. Once Dr Long came into the exam room, he was as kind and thorough as always, and he helped me. Dental work always scares me, but he makes it possible. I am very grateful. Previous post: I have been a regular patient at North Coors Dental since this the early 1990s. (Preface this review with the comment that having dental work done terrifies me. ) I go every six months, but every six months it is a trial to even show up, and I often rebook, because I cannot bear to go. They are very patient with me, and over these many years have greatly eased this panic. Each time I go, either for cleaning or for necessary dental work, the results are always better than I hoped and the pain is much much less than I feared. That says a WHOLE LOT, because I am a huge woose about mouth pain. I am grateful to the doctors for their professionalism and kindness. I love the front staff, since they are the ones who calm me down, every single time. I am 65, and I still have all my teeth, primarily because these people have made dental care and diligence as gentle and painless as is possible. Even the Hygienists are kind. I work with Alice. She, too. encourages me to keep trying. Thank you again to Dr. Long (my dentist), Dr. Hesch and Dr. Rock (the dentist for some of my family members.) It is really true that I would not have the teeth I have were it not for your kindness.

The facility is clean throughout. Gavin is focused and direct which is appreciated. He makes you feel relaxed before starting any procedure. I'm glad I got established here before they get overbooked.
Dr. Long did a root canal on me today and the worst part was the shot that I barely felt. 3 hours later I couldn’t even tell I had work done. He is very friendly and very gentle and kind. He explained everything to me before, during, and after. 5 months ago I had a very bad experience with a dentist in Santa Fe: Dr. Long restored my faith in dentistry. I just wish I could give him more stars. If you need a great dentist, this is the place to go. Everyone I met was great as well.

In spite of moving in the past few years clear (sic) across town, this dental practice is the one critical service I am not willing to give up. Answer all my questions. Been going there since Dr. Farley and Dr. Rodriguez. Recently went to the dentist for regular cleaning. I love my hygienist. She is very good and thorough. Asking me before they left if I needed anything or had any questions. Letting me know that they were expecting it to take more time, I texted my boss and they held to the time they estimated. Free WiFi for while you wait. During my filling and cleaning I was asked if I was doing okay and it was made clear at the beginning if I was in pain I was in control to ask them to stop and we can figure it out. Bottom line: excellent communication, clear costs, no unnecessary treatments, and friendly and professional staff.

I'm 86 yrs old man (using my wife's e-mail) and had to have a molar removed. Dr. Samuel was very good at explaining what was going to take place. The tooth took longer to extract because it was in such bad shape. He is a very kind & gentle person & wasn't in a rush to get the job done. In addition he called to check on me to see if every thing was okay.

I've had 3 amazing experiences here. My first cleaning the Dentist did because they were busy and she fixed my filling also. She did an amazing job! The last cleaning I had was fantastic and very thorough but efficient. I will definitely be continuing my cleanings here.

They take excellent care of you and your teeth. I am deathly afraid of the dentist, and I don't mind coming here! They are thorough and even put numbing cream on your gums if you need for dental work. I highly recommend this place to newcomers to ABQ.

The staff at NCD are efficient and kind! My appointments are always on time and I am never surprised at what the out-of-pocket expense will be for procedures. Great Experience! Abq Westside Dental Office: This is one of the best Dental experiences I have had in a long time! In fact, I'll even say in my life. Dr. Smith was great, and also helpful. For me the best experience was the Dental Hygienist Anne! I hate it, and a big "turn-off" for me, is when the Hygienist pick your teeth, and then hit your gums (that's when it turns into a white knuckle ride). Not ONCE! did Anne picked my gums..I was totally impressed. There is another Dental Office, which I will not mentioned by name (proximity to CVS on Coors and Montano) that the Hygienist "hacked" away at my gums, like a Butcher with a meat cleaver, taking it to "raw meat". I had to walk out of the office with major pain, and eventually a loss molar (should have sued). But Anne was great, and very thorough. I highly recommend this office! And by all means, don't go to the Dental Office near CVS (Coors and Montano) Horrible place! Freddie Krueger's Dental office!

Clean, courteous, friendly atmosphere. Great customer service. Got my early appt as i wanted and text messages to remind me of appt, was awesome. The techs are so nice and they know what they are doing. Dentist was friendly and i was very satisfied with his servises.
Dr. Hesch is a wonderful doctor! He genuinely cares and is interested to hear and address my concerns. I also appreciate that he takes the time to fully explain the process of what he is doing before he does it. The rest of the staff is also great!

I've never waited more than a few minutes before an appointment, and everyone at the front desk is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Cynthia, The Hygienist, and Dr.McGinty provide a wonderful experience for getting ones 'dreaded teeth cleaning'. Before Cynthia became my hygienist, I would request earphones and anxiety gas. Cynthia is not only thorough in her business of cleaning teeth, but also adds an educational component to my continual questions. Dr. McGinty is the first dentist that compliments my teeth and the efforts taken to keep them "pretty". The whole experience from Cheryl and Isabel in the front office, to Cindy. to Dr. McGinty is so pleasant that I keep coming back, twice a year! This team deserves more than the five stars provided.

Great dentists, great hygenist and awesome front desk staff! Everyone is kind and curteous at Mountain Dental. Had intense work done and they did it while keeping me extremely comfortable and I had no issues after my visits. They focused on me and making sure I was comfortable as all my work was done. They explained everything they were doing and all the care they were providing and needed to provide in upcoming visits. They also worked with me on my insurance and how they billed my Care Credit account.
Every 6 months I visit the lovely folks at Mountain Dental for a cleaning, and I'm never disappointed. The entire staff is so welcoming, friendly and organized I won't go anywhere else after visiting them. They are professional, friendly, courteous and really enjoy helping the folks of the Valley keep their smiles bright and happy.

Dr Long and his staff at North Coors Dental are awesome. They do everything they know how to accommodate their patients, for appointments to comfort and relaxing atmosphere. Dr Long is knowledgeable , courteous and gentle. I recently received dental implants through Dr Christopher Larmour and Dr Long who donated their time to allow me to be able to smile, chew and enjoy eating again, being able to eat fruits, veggies and meat that I've been unable to eat without grinding for several years. Excellent service! I was seen immediately for my broken tooth and got a temporary crown the following day. In less than a week I got my crown and it's perfect!

Dr. Thomas E. Hesch saved my wife's teeth on several occasions (emergency and non) while other dentists advised they could not. His expertise really defines specialist and hope to be back in soon for some regular work.
